Part 2: COASTAL PROTECTION

This lesson plan emphasizes the role corals play in protecting coastlines, value of coral, and specifically the regional history of corals in Maunalua Bay. Activities for this unit include the opportunity to build your own wave tank (grades 3-8), a visualization of how barriers impact wave action (grades 3-8), and an opportunity for high school students to build their own artificial reef structure.
